"Oh! Sorry! No, that's-- sorry!" Scorpius slammed the door and ran to the solar.

His mother looked up from her correspondence. "Problem?"

Scorpius pointed vaguely, making a garbled noise.

His father sighed. "Yeah." He turned his attention to the paper. "I know the feeling."

Scorpius dropped into a chair and set his head in his hands. A few minutes later, his grandparents swept into the room, both with serene expressions. Scorpius tried desperately not to notice that Narcissa's elegant updo was slightly mussed.

"Good morning, Scorpius," Lucius said, straightening his waistcoat. "And that is why we knock in this house."
