Hello my Lucissa- Loving Friends,
I have a question for you, and as DW does not allow for poll hosting, I tried a different page- lets hope it works.

What type of fest would you prefer this year

Exchange fest- like last year with roughly the same time (writing time: July till 15th of October)

Prompt-based Fest

I think, with a community this small, exchange is a little more difficult to do. I like the idea of prompt-based, with a couple of caveats. To me, if it's prompts, it needs to be emphasized that prompts are a jump-off, not a specific request. That way, there's less confusion over "they included something I didn't want and now my gift is ruined". (Side pairings are a big one there.) Prompts should be thought of as free-for-all, not gifts.

yes, if i go for prompts it will be 100% the prompt is a guideline and only your up to 5 don't dos will be considered.
i just fear with a fest this small if i manage to get enough prompts to make people want to create - but if the poll shows it i will go for it !

Oooh, wow. Five 'don't do' is a LOT for a prompt fest. That leads right into the whole "they ruined my prompt" that I've seen too many times over the years. Allowing a list of don'ts makes it feel more gift-like than prompt-like. :| If you go that route, maybe include the option for a participant to select/create their own prompt as well. That way there's definitely a chance for everyone to do something they like. (For example, if every prompt submitted says "No non-slash Draco side pairings", that's every prompt I won't do. The option to do an 'own prompt' there would be very helpful.)

damn that is a fantastic point- i myself write only slash-draco i never even considered that- but yes it will be mentioned that prompts are no gifts and maybe 4 dislikes will work better- the option for self-prompt is of course granted too ( i see that as a default so i didn't even think about it)
